AI and Real-Time Features: Elevating travel safety by reducing stress and mitigating risks during critical situations
Behind Story - Changing life problems to digital solutions
Remember the thrill of planning that vacation with friends during college days? Two years later, reunion plans met parental reality: a firm "no" for the girls. Connections, relatives, endless pleas – just to carve a safe space for our adventure? That's when a spark ignited: why not a safety-assured app, a virtual guardian angel for all travellers?
Problem Statement
Design a one stop solution that addresses and provides safety while travelling.
BeyondSafeT: From Concept to Brainstorm
We spread out a survey form in the university to hear our priority audience challenges. Within 30 min 20 responses drew a vivid picture of traveler anxieties.
Which,
made us realise, the necessity of listing out-of-scope elements to understand the challenges within the BeyonfSafeT's scope.
With this clear picture,
we crafted our solution vision around the user experience we aimed to deliver.
A Peek into BeyondSafeT Solution
From Overthinking to Aha! Moments: 3 Minutes to Project Clarity
We tamed our storm of questions into project steps— best solutions come from simply asking the right questions.
1. What do people want to see on the Application?
Interview Waves - Noting down what does/doesn't work for users
Interviewee's Details
22 year old woman

(The picture depicts user requirements and feature solutions highlighted in red and yellow colour)
Market needs - Team analysis on competitors to understand broader needs and insights
What are the leading travel safety apps currently available in the market?
Based on their user reviews, what are the key Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats of these top travel applications?
We summarised our research by identifying the challenges the above travel apps address, relevant to BeyondSafeT's vision, in a SWOT analysis.
Conclusions from the Market Analysis and Interview Insights
Below mentioned are user and market needs which are critical for BeyondSafeT to address.
What are our directing measures to achieve solution vision?
Our aim was to design BeyondSafeT decision makers which we could look upto when in doubt and guides us through the prototyping stage.
The scope, vision image we drew initially are great measures but we needed more that walks us through design. So I:
Stepped into Users Shoes: User Journey Map
I used the 6 Thinking Hats technique to design user journey map.
Application Flow
I classified and prioritised the features' visibility before outlining the application flow.
How easy is enough easy to navigate around the application? (User Group - 20-65 years)
Bringing Application Flow to Life: The wireframing Stage
4. What Responses Define BeyondSafeT's Success?
Considering user insights I designed high-fidelity designs that were ready for testing.
Remote Moderated Usability Testing Report
Participants: 3 people
23 year old
42 year old
58 year old
Results and Feedback
Final Prototype
User Comments and Results
Packing our bags with below Learnings
Asking right questions during team discussions is as important as asking during user interviews.
Understanding the problem and designing the directing measures helps in eliminating unnecessary deviations from the vision.
Irrespective of the size of the problem, solution can still be simple yet effective.
